Wilwood, Racing Hart and Yokohama.

I chose the Racing Hart C5 wheels in 17x9 and 17x11". I bought these wheels what seems like a lifetime ago, before they became popular among the "Fast and the Furious" guys. The car has taken so long to finish that they've fallen away in popularity a bit lately. By the time the car's finished, things will probably have gone full circle and they might have almost reached "retro-cool" status...

I'm not one for keeping cars pristine and shiny, so I like the fact that these painted wheel centres look good after just a quick wipe. It doesn't hurt that you have a good view of the brakes through the spokes as well.

The wheels aren't as heavy as some other quality Japanese brands, but they're certainly no lightweights... The tyres will start as Yokohama A520 in 245/45 and 285/40ZR17. After I have worn these out (on the track, of course!), I'll try some brand new - but superceded - Bridgestone V8 Supercar tyres. These were designed to run on 17x11 rims, so they'll be perfect for my back wheels!

The brakes are Wilwood GN111 6 Piston calipers on the front, and Wilwood SuperLite 4 Piston calipers at the rear. These both have different bore sizes for more even clamping force on the rotors. Who knows exactly what I was thinking when I painted them red!?!? The pedal box is a Wilwood 6.25:1 ratio setup with a balance bar for front to rear adjustment. The master cylinders are Wilwood alloy 7/8" and 3/4". Just to complete the Wilwood package, I have their Polymatrix D compound brake pads front and rear. The rotors are DBA 13" drilled and slotted on the front, and 13" slotted monsters from Dick Johnson Racing's V8 Supercar on the rear.
